Material Properties

The aluminum veneer curtain wall is made of aluminum alloy sheet (2.5mm thick, weighing about 8kg/㎡), which weighs only 1/5~1/10 of stone. It has high strength and strong corrosion resistance, and the fluorocarbon coating can maintain its color for 20 years without fading. The stone curtain wall is made of natural stone (such as gold hemp, British brown, etc.), with a thickness of usually 25-35mm, heavy weight, and color difference problems.  

Construction method

Aluminum veneer can be installed by dry hanging, adhesive or riveting, with a construction period 30% shorter than stone, suitable for high-rise buildings. Stone requires keel support and wet installation, which is complex and costly to install.  

cost structure

The comprehensive unit price of aluminum veneer curtain wall is about 600~858 yuan/㎡ (including aluminum plate, steel frame and installation), with aluminum plate accounting for 40%~57% and steel frame accounting for 15%~19% of the cost composition. The comprehensive unit price of stone curtain wall is about 700-900 yuan/㎡, with stone accounting for 25% and steel frame accounting for 19% -28%.  

Applicable scenarios

Aluminum veneer is often used for the exterior facade of high-rise buildings (such as Shanghai Tangchen Yipin) due to its lightweight advantage, while stone curtain walls are mostly used for villas or the bottom 2-3 floors of buildings (such as Xinda Taihe Shanghai Yard).
